Gramona Gran Reserva Imperila Cava is rich and full bodied. The grapes rest on their lees for 5 years. The palate show notes of white peach and an extremely pleasant note of yeast, that is reminicent of very high end champagne. Complexity abound this can hold it’s own against Champagne at much higher price points.

I read about this Cava (soon to be called Corpinnat) in the WSJ article by Lettie Teague.
I just had to try it as the Cava’s I had tasted before were way less than desirable.
I agree with her that this can stand up to a lot of Champagne’s. It’s made from different grapes so the taste is different but delicious. I think any sparkling wine drinker should give it a try. I would say 4 1/2 stars.
