Produced in the Languedoc-Roussillon, between sea and mountain, from the three local grape varieties Grenache (50%), Syrah (30%) and Mourvedre (20%), Pontificis is deep purple in colour, with aromas of spice, black fruits and herbs and a palate of supple, yet rich spicy fruit. It is a beautiful representation of the best of the South of France.

Accidnetly opened this 2016 instead of a 2023, beautiful rusty color upon opening.
On the nose, heavy alcohol and it goes away.
Tart cherries, ripe super market grapes, light to dry finish, so much aroma and memories holding this bottle.
From buying it together with my wife, we moved in together in our first home, then packing it away when she passed away, a few apartments later and then one night. . I open it because I had a few Pontifics in the cellar. .
9, almost 10 years later, I open it without noticing and I am glad I did.
This is for Erin, who chose this bottle and would have loved this.

OMG…Great with listening to Jazz & New Age music
For me, this blend is soft & palatable in my mouth.
It isn’t tannic & goes very well with creamy Toscano cheese soaked in Syrah. Love, love this wine!
2020 and 2021 tannins sharp and bitter start to finish. All wines have good and bad years. Looking forward to 2022
