Giordano Lombardo Vigne de San Martino Gavi di Gavi ($17.99): Bright, pure and multifaceted with emphatic citrus fruits and mellow, marzipan and marcona notes. Driving, etched minerality on the crisp palate, chalky texture that does not diminish the graceful freshness and clarity of expression. Linear but unrelenting chalkiness with a pronounced finish. 100%
Peirano Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon ($15.99): The rich, dark color of this wine catches you from the first pour. It exhibits a rich deep burgundy hue. The aromas of zesty black cherries, cola, and toasty cocoa abound. The initial sip fills the mouth with sweet anise, black boysenberry, cherry, anise, molasses, and baked blackberry pie, while maintaining absolute dryness and firm, round, yet supple, tannins.
Ampelos Syrache ($29.99) This wine, a roughly 70/30 blend of Syrah and Grenache, analogous to a Rhone blend, promises bright fruit with a palate pleasing array of cherry, blackberry and plum, while deeper notes of cracked pepper and chocolate whisper “pour me another glass…”. Strong, but balanced tannins make this wine very food friendly and will allow plenty of aging time.
Reunión Malbec ($15.95) This sustainably farmed, single vineyard estate wine is composed of 100% hand harvested Malbec from the Los Sauces of Mendoza. It has a deep, concentrated red color with purple hints. It is a very expressive wine with ripe, fruity aromas of plum and cherry, as well as notes of chocolate. Reunión Malbec is soft and round on the palate with velvety and mature tannins; it has a well balanced and full-bodied long finish.
