C’est La Vie Pinot Noir/Syrah ($12.99): A convivial wine with a ruby-red color tinged with purple hue by youth and good intensity. Powerful nose which opens on steams of strawberry and raspberry. This wine is marked by floral notes and smells of ripe red berries. Easy drinking and excellent with or without a meal.

Chateau la Vieille Cure Fronsac 2004 ($29.99): Robert Parker 90 pts
The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2004 offers a sweet perfume of framboise, black cherry liqueur, cedar, and spice. Supple-textured, medium to full-bodied, expansive, and savory with superb purity and texture.

Chateau Simard Saint-Emilion 2000 ($36.99): This Bordeaux offering is from the stellar 2000 vintage.  It is made from 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.  The bottle age here is showing beautifully.  Elegant and earthy, with notes of dark fruit and forest floor.  This is a rare chance to try aged Bordeaux for a reasonable price.

Sarget de Gruaud Larose St. Julien 2000 ($65.99): Deep dark brick color, enticing aromas of tabac, leather and concentrated cassis, leading to a medium bodied, bold, yet supple palate of dried dark fruit, pencil box and forest floor, suffused with supple leather that heralds the well integrated tannins of this exceptional vintage.
