Clos de la Grange Touraine Sauvignon Blanc ($15.99): From famed Montlouis winemaker Francois Chidaine, this 100% Sauvignon is made biodynamically and sees no oak. Fuller-bodied, with notes of fresh citrus and stones fruits, all with a mouthwatering finish.
Calea Nero d’Avola ($11.99): An excellent deep, spicy, intriguing red wine from Sicily, the 2016 Nero d’Avolo is a tank-fermented and aged, dark ruby-hued, medium-bodied effort offering vibrant strawberry and cherry notes intermixed with loamy soil/volcanic earthiness and roasted herb characteristics.
Bedrock Zinfandel ($29.99): Wine Spectator – 93 pts
This is powerful but elegant stuff, and like most Bedrock offerings, avoids the over-ripeness and lunkiness of many Zin’s out there. The hope here is to show the spice, structure, and dramatic aromatics and mouthfeel found in great Sonoma Valley Zinfandel at a very friendly tariff.
