This Saturday we invite you to a tasting featuring some of wine-making’s most honored and classic regions. From the old World to the New, from the Sun-drenched plateaus of Rioja to the misty slopes of the Columbia River Valley in Washington, we’ve selected a palette of wines guaranteed to please.

Hermanos Pecina Senorio Cosecha Rioja ($14.99): Classic Rioja, with bright garnet and good depth of color. Generous, fruity aromas of black fruits and on the palate, plums, blackberries and balsamic notes; fresh and pleasant to drink.

Ch. Sainte Marie Entre-Deux-Mers Bordeaux Blanc ($16.99): From storied Bordeaux. Beautiful aroma of passion fruit, grapefruit and a little oak. Exotic fruit character in with zingy brightness and just a touch of creaminess. Pure finish with complexity.

Paul Chappelle Santenay ‘Les Graviers’ 1er Cru 2006 ($36.99): Intense nose of forest floor, raspberry and allspice. On the structured palate, this well-aged Burgundy is all secondary flavors like plums, leather and dark cocoa.

Ex Libris Cabernet Sauvignon ($19.99): A classic cool-weather Cabernet Sauvignon: The nose has generous dark fruit. On the palate there is ripe cassis, sandalwood and cigar box notes with a beautiful backbone and supple tannin to balance.
