On Friday, join our good friend Mark Neville for an amazing free tasting of three solid wines from an upstart California label, Roots Run Deep, that makes juicy, expressive and bold bottles of juice that allow an oenophile to sample wines that show off the best of what California has to offer at more budget-friendly prices than the usual suspects.Drinking like the opulent and storied wines of legendary producers, this trio offers a cross section of Golden-State goodness in the form of three classic California varietals from appellations that serve them quite well producing wines that meld the best of drinkability, affordability and quality all in one bottle.

We hope you will join us for this unique and special tasting designed to offer our customers a better opportunity to get to know these wines, which are already among our staff favorites.

Educated Guess Cabernet Sauvignon ($24.99) Simply one of the best buys in Cabernet Sauvignon in all of California. The blend includes little dollops of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Showing a black/ruby color, juicy blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, spice box, Christmas cake, supple tannins, low acidity and a lush, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, this is a gorgeously sexy, lush wine that delivers the goods at a phenomenal price.

Educated Guess Chardonnay ($21.99): An excellent value from this winery, with abundant notes of tropical fruit, lemon oil and buttered apples, the wine is medium bodied, fresh, clean, pure, and a bargain at the price point! Smooth and luscious without being overbearing, the wine delivers apertif style while remaining food-friendly and fun.

Educated Guess Pinot Noir ($22.99): This Pinot Noir is truly a labor of love. Handcrafted in every way to ensure that the wine has plenty of lush fruit to balance out the bright acidity that Carneros is known for. Educated Guess Pinot Noir is deep, rich, and concentrated in color and texture with ripe strawberry, red cherry and wild berry fruit. Hints of spice and cola with firm tannins in the finish.
