FRANCE AND CALIFORNIA

Thu 12/5
Ghostwriter Santa Cruz Chardonnay ($34.99): Rich and complex; the nose shows mineral notes and citrus.  It boasts a full body from extended lees contact.  The wine is then aged in neutral oak.  This Chardonnay shows an intense minerality and meyer lemon on the palate balanced by just a hint of oak.

Annabella Napa Cabernet Sauvignon ($18.99): Deep burgundy in the glass, with brilliant red undertones. The nose is bright with cranberry, currant, and boysenberry, framed by delicate oak. Rich with flavors of chocolate-covered cherries and freshly roasted coffee with a finish that is lightly smokey with the sweet char of toasted oak.

Chateau Bouscasse Madiran ($25.99): This inky blend of 80% Tannat and 20% Cabernet Franc is a wine that is both dense and smooth, yet elegant and Old-World. On the generous nose and rich palate, ripe black fruits dominate, with an almost meaty undertone, supported by a dry, solid structure from the Tannat. Ready to pop with some friends tonight, or a worthy addition to the cellar for up to a decade or two.

Alain Voge Cornas Les Chailles ($52.99): This 100% Syrah is rich with dense ripe red fruit. It’s aromatic with complex aromas of dark plums and smoked meat.  The palate shows ripe cherrries and raspberries with an earthy back bone.  The finish is long and rich with very well integrated tannins.
