FRANCE, ITALY, AND NEW ZEALAND

August 3, 2017
Otto’s Constant Dream Sauvignon Blanc ($13.99): Also humorously know as OCD Sauvignon Blanc, this wine was named after the project owner’s state of mind concerning wine.  White flowers with green apple and passion fruit and a touch of grass rise from the glass.  The mouth-feel is light and fresh with lime and grapefruit leading into a crisp mineral finish.
Maison Moutard-Diligent Bourgogne Blanc ($18.99): One thing this wine shares in common with its more expensive cousins from the region is a beautiful balance between restraint and richness. Perfectly balanced fruit and minerality are tell tales of this wine’s Northern Burgundian elegance, but it has a substance and style all its own.

Maison Moutard-Diligent Bourgogne Rouge ($19.99): The Moutard-Diligent family has been making wine in the village of Buxeuil since the 17th century. Though this northern outpost of Burgundy is perhaps known more for its white wines, juicy Pinot Noir flourishes just ten miles north-east of Chablis. This wine exhibits structure and elegance.  It shows ripe red fruits on the nose as well as on the palate, leading into a long, layered, and mineral finish.   The value here is undeniable.

Fratelli Antonio e Raimondo Langhe Nebbiolo ($17.99): This Nebbiolo is classically styled and refined.  The nose produces a bouquet of rose petals and red fruit layered with leather and earth.  The medium-bodied palate delivers red fruit and tobacco with plenty of earth and rich integrated tannic structure.
