Maison Moutard-Diligent Bourgogne Rouge ($19.99): The Moutard-Diligent family has been making wine in the village of Buxeuil since the 17th century. Though this northern outpost of Burgundy is perhaps known more for its white wines, juicy Pinot Noir flourishes just ten miles north-east of Chablis. This wine exhibits structure and elegance. It shows ripe red fruits on the nose as well as on the palate, leading into a long, layered, and mineral finish. The value here is undeniable.
Fratelli Antonio e Raimondo Langhe Nebbiolo ($17.99): This Nebbiolo is classically styled and refined. The nose produces a bouquet of rose petals and red fruit layered with leather and earth. The medium-bodied palate delivers red fruit and tobacco with plenty of earth and rich integrated tannic structure.
