On Friday, Join our friend Chris and the crew here at Oak and Barrel for a quartet of staff favorites from around the world of wine-making. From an eminently quaffable, bright and juicy Rose Cava from Spain to the beautiful earthiness of a still Pinot from halfway around the world in New Zealand, these wines are sure to become favorites of yours as well. So join us from 5 to 8 this Friday for samples of these spectacular cuvees that should become part of your regular rotation.
Juve Y Camps Cava Rose ($17.99): This Cava is beautiful, rich salmon-pink in color. On the nose, the delicate aromas evolve from notes of fresh red apple and wild strawberries to hints of honey white flowers and toasted almond. On the palate the texture is rich and creamy with a fine perlage. Gorgeous balance, pert fine bubbles and a vivacious personality to match. Great value from a traditional Cava producer that delivers effortless consistency and style.

Catena Chardonnay Classic ($19.99): Highly rated and reviewed across the board, this classic wine from a benchmark Argentine roducer shows an intense green-yellow color with golden highlights. The nose offers ripe white fruit aromas such as pears and peaches, interwoven with delicate citrus and floral notes. The palate shows rich and pear, apple and apricot flavors with a light note of minerality. The wine finishes long and complex with crisp, mineral acidity.

Maison L’Envoye Morgon ($19.99): Youthful violet. A highly aromatic bouquet evokes fresh dark fruits, incense and Asian spices, along with a bright mineral overtone. Juicy and expansive, offering appealingly sweet boysenberry preserve, floral pastille and spicecake flavors lifted by zesty acidity. Delivers a suave blend of power and finesse, finishing with well-knit tannins and excellent clarity and length.

Mt Beautiful Pinot Noir ($25.99): Alongside bright, lively cherry notes, there is a compelling core of unmistakeable minerality that sits effortlessly on the silky fresh palate. Pure, evocative wild berry and spice that is enticing and rich through the entire experience. Floral and earthy finish. A stunning effort from the kiwis.
