Domaine Chanzy Bouzeron Aligote Clos de la Fortune Monopole ($19.99): Bouzeron is a salute to the Aligote grape, to which it owes its fame. At once rounded and sprightly – a superb synthesis – this enjoyable and delicately powerful wine contributes lemony notes to oysters and matches their saltiness with its steady minerality.
Lassarat Moulin a Vent 4 Terres ($25.99): This Beaujolais shows aromas bright cherry and blackberry. It has good structure and rich concentration of dark fruit melding perfectly with a hint of baking spice. The finish is lingering and pleasing. This is a fine example of the complexity of Moulin-a-Vent.
Francoise et Denis Clair Cotes du Beaune Village ($26.99): This village level burgundy sources from different parcels located in Santenay and the Maranges. Fresh red fruit aromas (raspberry, strawberry, blackcurrant) quite typical of Pinot Noir that carry on through the palate. A wine that punches above its price point and offers great value.
