Erste and Neue Pinot Grigio ($16.99): Hailing from Alto Adige, home of some of Italy’s finest whites, Erste & Neue’s Pinot Grigio is absolutely textbook: pear, apple, hint of nutmeg, very good balance of weight and acidity. A very good versatile everyday white wine, and it’s a steal.
Nicchia Lambrusco di Sorbara ($14.99): This sparkling red from northern Italy features fruity aromas of ripe plum, crushed blackberry and wild raspberry which follow through to the lively palate. It’s off dry, with bright acidity and a light effervescence. Served chilled with pizza or even with your favorite chocolate dessert.
Artuke Rioja ($12.99): This Rioja is fresh, bright and juicy. Aged in concrete tanks to preserve the cherry red fruit qualities, this Joven (Young) Tempranillo represents an extraordinary value. This is a quaffable easy drinking summer red.
