SAKE AND SHOCHU

Fri 1/4

Kikusui Shuzo Funaguchi Nama Genshu Hanjozo 200 ml ($6.99) / 1 L($28.99): Funaguchi is an un-pasteurized and un-diluted type of Sake and as such it is surprisingly delicate. Funaguchi has a rich, full-bodied flavor but with a refreshing clean finish. Because this Sake is un-pasteurized this fresh fruity flavor matures day-by-day in the can. In six months it transforms into a rich brandy-like flavor. After one year it comes to resemble a Chinese rice wine. Also being un-diluted instead of the usual 15% alcohol Funaguchi has 19% alcohol opening it up to the possibility of interesting cocktails. Experience the difference of un-pasteurized, un-diluted Sake.

Shirakabe Gura Tokubetsu Junmai 300ml ($9.99) / 720ml ($19.99) / 1.8L ($34.99):  “Shirakabe Gura” is the brewery located in the Nada area, the heartland of Japanese sake making. This Tokubetsu Junmai is meticulously brewed using exceptionally pure water, Miyamizu, and carefully selected rice. The character of this sake is well-balanced with a complex, crisp finish.

Kikusui Junmai Ginjo ($24.99): This sake is a light and breezy delight. Easy to drink and mild, this is a beautifully crafted signature sake of the Niigata region. With a soft texture and a light fruity aroma, I enjoy this sake all throughout the year. delicious.

Takara Yokaichi Mugi Shocu ($19.99): Yokaichi Mugi is the finest Mugi Shochu. It is made from superior barley and combines age-old craftsmanship with modern technology. Enjoy the clean crisp taste and pleasant aroma on the rocks or straight up.
