Established in 1824, Macallan is currently the second-most popular single malt scotch in the world. The strict selection of ageing casks at Macallan sets the distillery apart from others in quality. Traditionally only only sherry casks were used, but with the addition of the Fine Oak and Rare Cask series, other barrels have been introduced, to great success.
Macallan 10 year, Fine Oak ($58.99): Triple Cask maturation, with European casks seased with sherry, American casks seasoned with sherry, and American casks seasoned with Bourbon. The younger sibling to the Macallan 15.
Macallan 12 year, Classic Sherry Cask ($69.99): Aged exclusively in select Sherry casks, this is benchmark for all 12 year old whiskeys and is one of the most popular around, and for good reason.
Macallan 15 year, Fine Oak ($109.99): Triple Cask maturation, with European casks seased with sherry, American casks seasoned with sherry, and American casks seasoned with Bourbon. Introduced in the early 2000s, with great success.
