Cycle Buff Beauty Malbec Shiraz ($17.99):
This ripe red is a blend of 90% Shiraz and 10% Malbec from 20 years old vines, and aged 10 months in French oak barrels. It shows exotic floral notes along with black plums, blackberries and spices with a long, lush finish.
Armida Zinfandel Poizin ($15.99):
Deep, dark garnet in color, the bright nose exhibits plums, raspberry and blackberries. The rich yet not overripe flavors of red-vine licorice, anise, spicy strawberry, and red currants are full-bodied and true to the varietal. The Petite Sirah in the blend contributes black pepper spice, racy acidity and firm structure, and gives this wine a rustic personality. The moderate oak contributes subtle vanilla and a smoky nuance.
Castillo Perelada Blanc Pescador ($10.99):
This wine has a fine, light and natural sparkle (pétillant). In Spanish this kind of wines are called vinos de aguja, which means needle-wines. Pale and bright green yellow tinge. Aromatic, slightly fruity and delicately lively, it has a refreshing, light and clean palate.
Kloof Street Red Blend Swartland ($22.99):
This seductive blend of Southern Rhône varieties has a perfumed nose of violets, spice and purple fruit. The medium to full bodied, food-friendly palate is finely textured with firm but approachable tannins and a fresh, lingering finish. Best served at 16 to 18°C.
