This is a wine of great surprises “Dark corner Duref
I was gifted a pack of 2010. And tasted on my birthday
To my surprise after a few sips it was OK. I let I sit in the glass for an hour or so and the wine had softened, literally the more I sipped the better it tasted. Its quite rich has a fruity depth without bitterness and any peppery taste is very masked. It encourages you to take a generous sip and savour the unique flavours it won’t last long and. It requires discipline to leave some in the bottle for the next day
Now we are into 2022 bottling date not quite as good as the earlier bottling but still a very enjoyable well above average wine.
Being I usually open only the odd bottle and rarely drink more than 2 glasses, the wine is even softer after a day or so,
This is a perfect gift for any red drinker and is likely to draw favourable comments.
Price wise it is remarkably low cost.
My best experience ever was a batch of 6 “Taylors Cab Sav 1971 I purchased from Paramatta liquor store and drank some 20 years later after storage in a forgotten corner of my underground garage, now that’s another story again
Good I
Ten bucks a bottle, tax and delivery included in NYC (OK, for six bottles or more)? Easily worth three times the price.
A friend brought a bottle. I loved it so much, I looked for it, figuring it may be $30-40 a bottle. And then found Oak and Barrle.
We really enjoyed this
Amazing! Great full flavor, full bodied and a great price. Good with red meat dinners or even after dinner wine.
