Established in 1982, the Montinore Estate is certified organic and biodynamic, and produces seven varietal wines. This pinot noir from the excellent 2014 vintage in Oregon is complex with aromas of cherry, strawberry, plum and a multitude of baking spices. Best with grilled rack of lamb or mushroom risotto.
The nose is complex with aromas of cherry, blackberry, dried fruit, dried flowers, cedar, lilac, clove, anise and caramel. The bold palate is ripe with black cherries, black plums, vanilla, tar, smoke, bittersweet chocolate and pie spice which is balanced beautifully by bright acid, all within well-structured tannins. Pair this Pinot Noir with rich foods like grilled lamb, mushroom risotto, cassoulet, smoked gouda or Delice de Bourgogne.
